Lille

Bonjour

On Tuesday morning we headed to the place where we wanted to start hitch-hiking from in Brussels. There's a cool website called Hitchwiki that among some really useful tips and information, even has a great map that has lots of good hitch-hiking spots marked on it. It has proven to be very useful several times already. It took us 3 different cars to get to Lille, and now here we are, in France :)

Once in Lille we took a little look around the city and bought some cool long French bread. Steven, our host in Lille, was working late so we met up with him in the evening. He's a really friendly and cool guy. Not French as you might think since we are in France, but actually from New York. Steven is very hospitable and we had lots of fun with him. It ended up being a long night with fun, drinks, music, playing guitar and didgeridoo. We'll but up some pictures and videos as well when we get a chance.

Today, on Wednesday, we walked around town a bit and did a little sightseeing. Also visited some local shops and got stuff to make dinner. Haven't had the chance to talk to a lot of French people yet, but hopefully that will change. Maybe we'll even be able to learn some French :)
